Isn't it? Had Intel introduced the 550 MHz Pentium III now, then Intel's clock speeds would have jumped 100 MHz all at once.

I think it has a nice touch to it also, but they are probably just returning the favor for when AMD held back on selling those K63s in Q4 so they wouldn't confuse the market. Remember that one?
