Linux is a free. If IBM comes up with any improvements to Linux then anyone will have it. No one can take it over. Thus I don't see your arguments that this is a big deal.
If IBM would work exclusively with DELL then they would limit their market. Just remember there are other components manufacturers although recently IBM have gained on competition but this is technology and todays leadership tells you nothing.

Ramsey...good points...as for the companies you mentioned not being down today....possibly an indication that tech sell-off is overdone (short-term)..

Ramsey, The Dell/IBM deal is not exclusive. Other firms can and will still buy IBM products if they are any good, which they often aren't. If they try to move away from Windows, MSFT will spank them.
