Off Topic: Anyone out there like spicy food? I make a first rate blend of spices (grinding organically grown, whole spices myself) based on a curry recipe that I have been modifying for more than 25 years. HOT! It was once sold in Bendels , New York, but now I just make it to give away. Anyone who wants some can e-mail me a mailing address and I will send them off a small bag that will do for several meals. (It goes without saying, so I will say it: I will not even keep your address, let alone use it either for myself or for anyone else, word of honor!) Good for stir frys, chicken, pork, fish, soups, eggs, etc. I hang out here a lot for several reasons. I have the time, it is still winter here in California, and I cannot do anything in the garden. This is an exciting time for AXC and I want to keep up. I am very new to this medium (near instant communication via the written word, a sort of hybrid between writing and talking). Although I was into computerized typesetting in the 70s, I was put out of business by the “desktop publishing” capabilities of the PC. I stayed away from the computer until late 1997. I only joined this “chat room”, my first, a couple of months ago. I find it fascinating. I see this group as an alternate management for AXC. I visit the gold thread to see some outrageous paranoia, and some truly vicious interactions. All this is going on with people who basically don't even exist for each other. I see emotions at work all over the place in much the same way as in face to face interactions, and yet there is the capability to just shut off the interaction with no consequences. And while the very basis of the medium is interaction with others, one remains absolutely alone and capable of “playing” the medium as a private salon or court centered around the self (This idea comes naturally to We, The King of New York! Pleny ‘nuf Jokers in this court!) As for having no life, that was a given before ever I ventured into this territory! I am a Pali Buddhist.
