Michelle,

I fail to see how the split would have any effect on your taxes if you sell half your shares. Your total gain or loss is the same whether you sell 50 shares at 80 before the split or 100 at 40 afterwards.

Michelle, the split makes no difference because your basis should always be split adjusted.
