Luke, congratulations on recognizing that the market would weak some from today's opening...well, a little in the techs (Dell)..

Unfortunately, U.S. retail sales on make up 10% of the overall market for P.C.'s...so COMPUSA's warning is not too interesting...

How 'bout Kumar: "PC sales very healthy"
Dataquest: " We see no problem"

More important news, indeed.

Close your position(s) now before the 30-year rallies, turbo-charging the stock market(s), and blasting up the high PE stocks.......By April 1st, this should be a reality..could happen sooner...also, as the "real" news about 1Q PC sales get out...(and doomday fades)

I would agree, that if the 30- year stays at 5.7 (or higher)....tech stocks will not rally (much) anytime soon...PC makers may go up a bit, due to better news anyway..But if there is a (significant) rally...look out...

LT, You forgot that it is totally company specific and as the world's largest retailer of PCs, not very important. Also, the direct sellers are taking all the sales from the stores, which is why we have had warnings from MUEI and Gateway and lousy revenues from Dell. Must be those OTHER, BIG direct sellers. <g>
