Well, I don't know about the short-selling....but it is crystal clear that someone had a much better understanding of the true condition of the company while they were selling. Read the Feb. 4 earnings press release and compare that to today's bombshell.

The cash means a lot in a buyout deal. $400 million will be very tempting to a buyer. Look at this post, Message 8158075

Looks like Gateway is opening Computer stores. Why open new stores when it can buy the hundreds of CPU stores at a very low price and with a cool $400 million cash on the balance sheet? The more I look at this, the more I think a GTW/CPU deal is very likely. It may be in the work already. The day this deal is announced will be the reward day for us CPU longs. I am definitely not selling at the current price. It is one thing to sell when it just started dropping, it is another (in my opinion, stupid) when it already dropped to the floor.
