(There was a time when I thought MR. M was on the ball, but not over the last many months. I think he should go out into the stores or visit a few VARs once in a while rather than dreaming in the California sun. If he thinks PCs are still selling this quarter, I have some delightful bowling alleys (former PC stores) he should take in. (g))

Near the end of his CNBC interview saying that any weakness in PC sales was purely seasonal, he was ambushed with the report that CPU would be 100% light on earnings before a charge. His response was that consumer sales (retail?) were only 10% of the total and nothing to worry about (paraphrased at best). His thesis is that Intel will provide the real answer when it doesn't warn late next week after its customers can no longer cancel orders (for the quarter?).
