The bottom line on USRX... ..is that it killed 3Com. It will go down in history as one of the worst mergers ever. It took both companies down. (I held positions in both companies pre-merger) The core businesses of COMS will be attractive to INTC, CISCO, Lucent and Siemans (remote possibility). USR related businesses (Analog modems, Total Control and Palm will likely go in different directions. IMO, COMS is unwinding its integration with Siemans to make the core business more attractive to the major players since they all offer access equipment. Tim
