BD,

have to disagree with you a little on two points.

1) Billy Joe is right to at least raise concern about GE being another "modem" business, the lan product cycles are much faster and the reliability requirements are lower. It is a risk, but it will be a small part of pmcs' business.

(OT: if you want to see a segment that gets ugly fast, watch cable modem chips and brcm, that will be another v.34 business! I guess it should sell at 2x PMCS's PE! ;-))

2) I disagree that intc/pmcs makes no sense. while intc brings minimal value add to pmcs (production expertise?) pmcs could provide a huge infusion of intellectual capital to intc. this would give intc sorely needed expertise if they wanted to pursue systems level business in the higher growth wan infrastructure business. while i think intc could have interest,

I would be very disappointed to see PMCS taken out, even for a substantial premium! So what if we get $100 or $120 a share. What will pmcs be worth in 3 years?

Maybe mattel will buy PMCS.....

searching for things to worry about....
