Our Mission

CANUS Corporation was formed in 1985 to support the Power Generation Industry with highly experienced Instrument and Electrical Engineers and Technicians. Since its conception CANUS has continually broadened its resources to address our existing clients' needs and to attract new clients. This has resulted in a company today that offers services to the Power Generation, Petrochemical, Water and Waste Water Industries that include Y2k Embedded Processor Support, Instrumentation and Electrical Engineering and Technical Services, Telecommunication Services including Network Cabling (Fiber Optic and Copper).

In all our activities and services provided, CANUS Corporation strives to provide professional services that can be held to a high level of scrutiny. We try to be the best at what we do!

Company Profile

CANUS Corporation was founded in 1985.  In 1997, a group of CANUS employees bought a portion of the company. Ben Kirk remains as the major stockholder and president of the company.

CANUS Corporation's corporate organization consists of people who at one time worked in the industries that we service.

Previous history includes employment with a Public Electrical Generation Company in the Electrical Test and Telecommunication Departments and various consulting firms in capacities ranging from field supervision to management.

Industries worked in include Power Generation (Nuclear, Fossil fueled and Hydro), Aerospace and Petrochemical.

Previous history includes employment with a Public Electrical Generation Company in the Nuclear Generation Instrumentation Department and various Instrumentation Consulting firms in capacities ranging from field supervision to management.

Industries worked in include Power Generation (Nuclear and Fossil fueled), Petrochemical, Manufacturing, Pulp and Paper.

Floyd Ricks - Director of Corporate Development/Y2k Training

Previous history includes employment with a Public Electrical Generation Company in the Power Generation Department, Nuclear and Fossil and various consulting assignments in capacities as Project Consultant to Company Management/Sales.

Industries worked in include Power Generation (Nuclear, Fossil fueled, Hydro and Co-Gen.), Petrochemical, Manufacturing and Commercial.

Reed Wiegle - Eastern Operations Manager/ Y2K Program Manager

Previous history includes employment with a Public Electrical Generation Company in the Power Generation Department, Nuclear and Fossil. Held position as Instrumentation Start-Up Manager for BWR Start-Up. Joined CANUS Corporation in 1995 in the capacity of Company Management/Sales and most recently Y2k Program Manager.

Industries worked in include Power Generation (Nuclear, Fossil fueled, Hydro and Co-Gen.), Petrochemical, Manufacturing and Commercial.

Karl I had the same thought recently. Perhaps it was the way that JJ described "signficant opportunties" for this partnership post Y2K. With deregulation driving opportunties for SI, Control Systems and sub-station automation this merger would make a lot of sense. Lets take it one step further and include Canus Corp. a company that also has embedded system strengths and Water and Power contracts. The combined synergies from these three could form a major utility industry integration and solutions provider.
