Ron McKinnon....Good informative posts! I have printed them out for my newbie archives. Will read them often and try to use these rules when I make a trade.

Thanks, JamesT

Ron, TJ, Jon, Tony and all:

WOW! Thanks for sharing all those great words of wisdom with us.

I read Jon's post from earlier asking TJ for advice on how to deal with his trading losses and my heart went out to him. I too made some very stupid trades this week and lost a considerable sum of money. I have no one to blame but myself...I didn't take the loss at my mental stop and instead, played the mental game with myself that "it will come back". The loss of commission now seems like a drop in the bucket compared to what I ended up losing.

I spent the latter part of the week dealing with my losses and, although still quite angry with myself, I am more resolved than ever to correct my mistakes. Jon's post could just as easily been mine. I read many of them with a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye as the realization of my stupidity re-surfaced. I have copied many of the responses and will spend more time this week end rereading them.

Thanks to all for the responses to Jon's request. Jon was not the only one who needed them....

Here's to next week...MMK

ALL:

Here is some info on a co. I learned about on Last Shadow's thread. I am hoping that someone can explain in non-techy terms what GIC does. I just don't get it ;)

Ron, TJ, MMK and friends: Not only did I get so much comfort from you guys, but also learned the valuable lessons today reading all of your postings. Friends, let me thank you one more time!

Ron, I spend last 3 hours reading and rereading your postings to evaluate my trading style and weaknesses. I actually WROTE down the trading guidelines that fits my situation and decided to put them into practice.

Btw, I felt there was one conflict advice from your two different postings. I would appreciate very much if you could clarify them.

>>>REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY -.... Buying when stocks are falling and selling when they are moving into higher ground is
one of the hardest things to learn [and do] when you first start trading.<<<
