1972 toolin aroung in my first Chevy Impala(used of course), listening to Whole Lotta Love and Born to Be Wild on my portable 8-track that had 1 movable speaker. Set up on the back window panel,
didn't have enough power to vibrate my windows, let alone someones house. Good memories though, now its Vivaldi in the morning to control road rage on the way to work <gg>

I can't complain about anyone else. My Rover has a truly excellent sound system, dude, and I love to listen to alternative rock-n-roll cranked up - I have a working hypothesis that I am the only 46-year-old female Republican lawyer in Fairfax County that shimmies and shakes to Blur and Nirvana, "not that it makes a heck of a lot of difference to ya" (Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, "Absolutely Free" (I think) but I can't remember which cut.)

TLC, my hearing is going, too - tinnitus reigns. But I am going deaf from a single summer of work at a steel fab plant, as assistant punch press operator. On a particular bunch of 36 inch cor-ten I beams we had tp punch 6 at a time. It sounded like a bevy of shotguns going off a foot from your head (at least it did the first time of the night).

Man, the things I did for money when I was young and foolish.
