PB : Someone is making a nice business for himself out of egold.

"The total cost of commissions and bid-ask spread may be as high as 6% for a round turn from currency to metal and back to currency." Plus annual "storage" of 1%.

I would imagine, as a deposit receiving institution ie a bank, that the egold business requires approval or a licence from the US Registrar of Banks --- that is, if it is actually registered in the US. Where the business is, physically, has not been mentioned.
