OR HERES AN ALTERNATIVE SKEDUAL Best mineral collection is at the ROM Royal Ontario Museum a subway ride away, well worth seeing if you have never been. Best Rock shop is at young and bloor another subway ride but I forget its name. ADVISE for convention, take a good pair of walking shoes those conventions are hard on the feet. Take a pad and pencil to jot things down. Otherwise you can suffer from information overload. If you are into the free draws take a whack of buisness cards with you, because they all require buisness cards. Smokers corner (outside back door of convention)is great place to strike up a conversation. Best alternative hotel for those on a budget is the strathcona. Visit what you want early. I am always amazed at how fast the thing shuts down on the last day. Avoid hospitality suites full of students. Too noisy to hear. If you dont watch it you can end up with a ton of reading material from convention floor so be selective. Im not going this year but I actually liked it better when the convention was smaller and all at the Royal york. Now it seems a little too big and spread out. if you go, enjoy, it comes but once a year. regards Walt
