Interesting. . . March 9, 1999 Dow Jones Newswires Ameritech Begins Fiber Optic Service In Rochester, Mich. Dow Jones Newswires DETROIT -- Ameritech Corp. (AIT) began fiber optic cable service in Rochester and Rochester Hills, Mich. In a press release Tuesday, the communications company said the service will be offered throughout the areas once the network is completed. The company has 200,000 cable customers in 82 Midwest cities and towns.
