Player and others

I suspect a number of these 'crappy implementations' are more due to poor project management, inappropriate resources (no doubt marketed 'experts' in software package by head hunters (aka IT pimps) and others who have beefed up staffs over the past 1-2 years with under-qualified personnel). Also, the software vendors do not qualify or vet consultants out there selling themselves as experts. And how do you expect a new client of a software package to be able to thoroughly grill or vet a prospective consultant or contractor. Mostly they go on the name of the firm 'selling' the body. The firms no doubt often hope their junior people know enough and are nimble enough to keep a step or two ahead of the client staff trying to learn and deal with the new product.
