Stefan, if you think the stock is overvalued, DON'T BUY IT!!!!!!! You obviously don't believe that future earnings do not justify the price so you would be foolish to buy, no matter what anybody else tells you about their take on the stock. So buy gold or platinum or whatever you believe is undervalued. Is this really so hard for you to figure out?

Wow! Herb Greenberg at TheStreet.com just posted that Piper Jaffray's
Ashok Kumar "expects the stock to bottom at around 70"---which is 35

It is cheap because it cost twice as much to buy a share on last Friday! Don't you know anything!!!!!!!!!!

Just Kidding.....But I am a shareholder and have never been able to justify the price. So you have to stick with a more basic fundamental analysis:

BUY DELL / NEVER SELL DELL

Good Luck!

stefan...re: dell fundamentals and s&p "average" pe....

you seem sincere, but your naivete shines through...you cite fundamentals...dell has not so shabby of a balance sheet...and has more than above average growth...consider the s+p 500 that you refer to...list 10 companies....large cap of course...that have better continuous growth than dell.....significant earnings growth has been occuring in dell...unless you can show a hard and fast fundamental change in dell or the markets it serves, which can be viewed as a tangible, avoiding the usual esoteric comments...then and only then, will those who closely follow dell and its historic growth, concede to consideration of your postings...

try to avoid the "psuedo contrarian" errors in judgement that you demonstrate...don't fight the tape...for it is the market that determines the valuation that it will place on dell...the s+p average pe of 30, is an average...some higher some lower...so it means not much...

you speak of buying a lottery ticket...not worth the dollar you paid for it after it becomes a loser...this is the very same thing you did in buying dell may 70 puts, and haranguing or challenging people on the thread to be on the opposite side of the transaction...your lottery ticket is worth one third of what you paid for it...are you still holding...perhaps until worthless....

if you want to prosper in any issue...dell, intc, msft, ibm, ge, gm,ko..whatever...stay on the correct side of the long term trade...it has yet to fail......sincerest wishes and enlightenment...ed a.

Does anyone remember the last time Dell was in the 40's? Seems at least 2 years or more.
