Paul,

You have MISTAKEN CPUID and Processor Serial Number.

I read somewhere that PSN was implemented as an extension of the CPUID instruction. Is this correct?

Even the NOBLE AMD K6's have CPU IDs.

Intel attempted to create IP around the original CPUID instruction, but their competitors have found workarounds for this situation.

I learned my nitpicking techniques from the SI masters!

Paul, - Down, boy, down

Yes, Paul you are correct.

The PSN is implemented as an extension to the CPU ID. I use this issue "title" simply because that is how it has become labeled in most press reports.
