Thanks for the interesting post. I have repeatedly voiced concern over this accounting technique, since this is not a new development, I found most the information valuable, but it seems to assume that investors are completely ignorant of these practices. For the unsophisticated investor this is probably true, but unsophisticated investors should probably stick to very conservative mutual funds anyway. I was also a bit put off by the "pitch" at the end for Bill Parishes services for hire. You're the first person on this thread who has actually offered something more than their unsupported opinion. Quite refreshing. Thanks again and good luck

Bill's commentary on this topic is excellent. It's a pleasure for me to second your posting of his work. When first we became aware of it, I thought there was some overstatement of the situation, but that is not the case. He is "on the money" on the MSFT option balloon.
