Sub 1000 PCs use AMD K6. So I guess Mikey is wright about being careful going into this market.

drew..re:amd...the pipe...filet mignon and dell amazing how analysts in the past downgraded intc, when amd faltered..perhaps one day they will discover amd has great product...but just can't get it out the door...reason enough why dell never considered them a viable supplier for bto....but yet dell wannabe gtw committed as did cpq to amd...reminds me of the story about the butcher...customer comes in and asks.."how much for the filet mignon?"...butcher responds $10/lb...customer:"i can get the same and better filet down the street for $5/lb"...butcher...well go down the street and buy it.. customer responds..."they're out of it!"......a bit corny, but demonstrates the value of a strategic alliance...if amd tanks...where will intc supply loyalty lie....??? regards, ed a.
