My opinion is that the best indicator of the OPEC bet are oil futures prices. Forget the various analysts, etc, the futures traders call the shots. I'd have to say that they believe OPEC will cut, or oil futures would not be moving up like they are. It's still oil prices that rule.

Y2K and Oil

I'm curious about people's opinions on oil rising due to y2k issues. See the rig thread on yahoo. Regardless of OPEC and Asia I think a case can be made for oil rallying into 2000 due to (real or potential) y2k issues.
