Here's the argument why it should sell off:

1. Expectations are very high, and the price already reflects that, so it'll be hard for the company to surprise positively. A 3-1 split is probably the only way for the company to attract even more attention (by the way, the fact that enough authorized shares exist only for a 2-1 split is not especially meaningful. The board can always declare a split contingent upon approval by shareholders of an increase in authorized shares).

2. I believe the stock has gotten away from even the momentum investors now and it's the daytraders who are responsible for the movement (i.e., very few buy-and-hold investors bought at $199 today). So if day/position traders are still the same people I know, they'll be selling in the 10 market minutes before earnings are announced, and a big dive (much like the scary one in January) is likely.

Here's why it should continue running:

1. Both people and Internet stocks are crazy.
