Metacrawler is a "meta-search engine." It searches all the other major search engines, including Yahoo, Excite, Lycos, etc., and returns the best answers for the search. It incorporates technology first developed at the University of Washington. See the Go2Net web site for a history of the technology. Hypermart is a great solution for small businesses wanting to get on the web for free. Www.hypermart.net itself is not very interesting unless you want a free web host for your business. The attractive part for GNET is the 150,000+ sites that they host and that are carrying advertising from advertisers that pay GNET.
