Fred,

Re: AMD said etc.

Well of course you are right that AMD's past performance sucks and

current performance continues to suck.

And they are coming up against mighty Intel which has a record of

being an overachiever and generally over delivers.

However this is all reflected in the stock price.

We may drop down some tomorrow but once they show the K-7 in a few weeks the stock will recover to the $18-19 range. It's the show me the money range.

If they ever do perform and have a good quarter the stock price will go up.

It looks like they are learning the game slowly but painfully. For the first quarter they were forecasting 5.5M. Now for Q2 after problems allegedly fixed they are only forecasting 5.0M.

So maybe they will do better, or maybe they won't.

We'll just have to wait and see.

Regards,

Kash Johal

Fred,

Intel had to throw out all their trump cards with the last round of Celeron price cuts.

What will they use against K7?

Fred:

re >>The sad thing is that no matter how many times AMD falls flat on their face, there are always investors willing to listen to what AMD has to say next. Unbelievable, but true.<<

A friend of mine is a psychologist that works with battered women. The description in your post sounds very much like his descriptions of beaten wife syndrome. Jerry needs to tread lightly. When a beaten wife finally gets her hubby "in his sleep" any decent attorney can get a justified homicide ruling. (ggg)

Greg

PS: Sorry about the "decent lawyer" oxymoron, please substitute qualified for decent.
