I never argued that pampered kids are prone to be spoiled...that is redundant. I certainly agree with you that wealthy kids tend to expect too much....but if you watched John Stossel's report last night, you'd have learned that is a trait of ALL teens, not just the wealthy. It has to do with the fact that from ages about 12-22, people don't use the part of their brain that manages critical thinking very much. They tend to use the impulsive part of their brain.
When you recognize this, you recognize that Monica's decadent behavior has less to do with wealth and more to do with age and maturity.

I'd say that your inability to recognize these points (I've made them before, but not in EXACTLY this manner) confines you to arguing a meaningless point...that wealth corrupts. I don't think that I'd disagree, in most cases. But I don't see what wealth has to do with Monica. Her problems are far more deeply rooted in the fact that she has yet to develop the skills required to be a critical thinker.
Your arguments against the behavior of the children of wealthy people leads me to believe you are hiding a certain jealousy....there is no reason to attack the wealthy as being any more decadent than anyone else. They are just more conspicuous.
