Re:QNTM's new Audio/Visual HDD. Ok drive gurus, help me out here: is there new technology behind Quantum's Audio/Video Hard Disk Drives or is it just a new name on an old drive? Is this proprietary technology or could any drive be used if the thoughput is high enough to read and write a video stream in real time. The fact that the only three vendors I know of going into the digital VCR business have partnered with Quantum would point to some special technology, but it might just be that only QNTM sees a business here worth going after. Anyone care to comment?
