Thread,

There seem to be more and more early indicators that a recovery is brewing in Asia. Liz Mackay at Bear Stearns reports three encouraging export signs. 1-The December trade number showed year-over-year growth with the newly-industrialized countries of Asia for the first time since October 1997. 2- NAPM survey in February reported its highest export reading since August 1997. 3- Port of Long Beach Container Traffic (80% of traffic with Asia) shows first year-over-year gains since November 1997.

Several commodities have ticked up lately like oil and nickel. Is it time to start investing for the coming Asian recovery?
