Alohal, go back and read any IDC forecast -they are consistently overly optimistic. The bulls take issue with their forecasts but figure IDC can get it right with respect to what has happened. Go back to 1995 and pick up a trade publication such as Electronic News or EE Times and see how optimistic everyone was for the rest of the century -that was the peak in semiconductor sales ( measured in dollars) The DRAM shortage was expected to last until the year 2000 .
