I travel fairly extensively and I assure you that prices in the US are not going down for most common items, and in fact are higher in US$ terms than those in Canada and Australia for identical items. For example Florida Orange Juice costs more in Florida than exactly the same product (same brand and same package) in Western Canada. Figure that one out!
