GZ,

""Translation: Thank you, I studied conversational Chinese for two years in college.""

You did pretty well, but ...

Chung Kwo is Central kindom/country
Chung Wen is Chinese (language, not people)

Shwo Hwa is speaking
Hwei Hwa is conversation

conversational chinese should be "Chung Wen Hwei Hwa"
or you can say "Shwo Chung Kuo Hwa" (speak chinese).

And in Conversation, we use Shueh (learn), not Nyan (study).

And your grammar is very English, try this:

Sye Sye, Wo Dzai Da Swye Shueh Ler Lyang Nyan Chung Wen Hwei Hwa.

I am sure your college professor may disagree with me,
but this is how I say it for the past 40 years. -g-

GZ and Chip,

I like Po also.
Have you read anything from Lee Bai,
the most talented Chinese poet.
