Toy;

It's all about spin, isn't it.....

A question. In all of your posts about the hundreds of millions of objects that a v8 directory will be able to store, you have yet to mention anything about replication. I point this out only because your theme here seems to be enterprise computing. Every enterprise I have worked with so far has more than one server. So tell me, how does one address the replication of this billion object tree across the numerous servers in an organization?

Another point to note. Let's please try to keep our facts straight. What Novell actually announced was an open beta testing phase of the v8 product. Based on this, I would expect that we are more likely to see a shipping product some 12-18 months from now.

Jordan

ToySoldier,

Do you have any idea how big (in $$) the network directory segment
is today?? How big it will be in the next 3-5 years?? How
much revenue does NOVL stand to make from just this one product??
Will it enhance sales of Netware?? How much??

Thanks in advance,

cherylw

The new version of Office, Microsoft's hugely profitable package of word processing and spreadsheet software, will be released to manufacturing by the end of March and widely available in the next quarter, Maffei said.

Looks like MSFT will be shipping O2K in time to make some big bucks for us (exclusive "us", not inclusive "us").

Yes its late, Toy, but not as late as you have said.
