Tom and Dan

thank you for taking the time to respond to my question about brokers

sad that you were the only two to answer an honest question

for whatever reason it looks like this thread has just about died

I'll take a small % of the blame because I don't post nearly as often as I used to, but this thread was great because of the input from many people; not just one or two

if one surfs around SI the most active threads are ones that hype the stock of the second; or ones that "spoon feed" stock picks for a fee (Jenna or T-Mex), or hype by a 15 year old (Wizz Kid), or a Enquirer like war (T-Mex vs A@P)or the others that hit the "hot" list

there are some very good and active ones like Mike Burke and Last Shadow and others but those have one person who "leads" and posts often

it seems like a thread (without an active leader) that trys to speak to broader issues without day to day hype by a "guru" who claims a 99% win rate, or 10 minute 30% gain stock picks, just is out of favor these days

I'm going to be gone for the next week or so, so will not be posting, but really need to think if it is time to join the ranks of SI lurkers and just "rent" a post or two on various threads from time to time

thanks to all for the 20,000 posts here over the last two years

good trading to everyone

Tom, >>if you trade seriously, you are doing yourself a disservice if you don't use a direct entry system like Realtick<< Could you describe briefly what is the difference between these systems and any other online broker? Specifically, what actually happens to the order that you enter using "direct entry" versus what would happen at Datek, Etrade, etc. Also, why do you call it Realtick? I have PCQUOTE streaming realtime quotes through the internet and it is also called Realtick. BTW, I am very dissatisfied with pccquote, both the terribly slow quotes in early AM and the often total lockout starting around 3:40. Also, the highs and lows have been inaccurate often lately, and I got a rude response when I called customer service a few weeks ago. Left several messages for the "data guy" and he never called back. I'm looking for a new quote provider. Any suggestions?
