I think a 3-1 would be great, but I don't really understand the notion that you need a lower price to attract retail investors. With online trading that goes around brokers, you don't need to buy in lots of 100 shares. So if the retail investor only has $2,000 to invest, he buys 10 shares. What's the big deal?

Yeah, there certainly is a psychological factor to a lower price or owning twice as many shares for the same amount of money, but the real purpose of the split should be to create greater liquidity to attract institutional investors that are scared of the volatility of CMGI's relatively low float and to reduce the influence of daytraders on that volatility...
