I love Julia Child. When another cooking show person who was into healthy food died, she said if he had ever had a decent meal he would still be alive.

I like a panfried ribeye from time to time.

When I cook a porterhouse on the grill in the flames I use Lawry's salt and pepper. Then freeze the sucker. Toss it in the flames. The fat gets crispy, charred on the outside and cool inside. 90% lean hamburger I sometimes eat raw. Same with flank steak. Never had e-coli.

I am DROOLING. If you will do the cooking, then I open my house for the DAR Y2K party.
Do you think it means anything that so many of us here eat--and aren't apologetic about it--red meat? you, ALex, Ish, who else? We swim against the tide of health conscious, leafy, grainy, people-- THose wan, skinny, shadows of humans. WE are real people. We have bodies you know you're hugging, solid, strong, meaty bodies, lots of us!

Ish will appreciate this-- one New Year's we were invited to DC for a house party and a huge snowstorm hit. There we were with the host and about 15 pounds of the best fresh steak tartare I've ever tasted and no one but me me me to eat it. No one could get to the house through the snow. Dan ate the shrimp but I had tartare all night long--and then for breakfast, lunch, dinner....
No e coli.
