rudedog:

At what point in March would CPQ have a firm grasp of revenues?

I am assuming that for PC's the turnaround time from order to delivery is 8 days, so that CPQ should know the numbers that will ship no later than 23rd March. I would also think that they would have a good idea a week before that date from orders in the pipeline.

What will be the date for the other major groups of products?

I would have thought consulting services would be easier to predict because there is a finite number of them billable and presumably they will be already scheduled.

I think it is quite possible that CPQ will wind up with negative whisper number. The expectations have been set so low that even if they miss by a penny or two we will wind up with a relief rally.

Landsend disappointed today but the stock popped when the figures were analyzed and it was determined that their internet business had grown significantly. (They are citizens of the future).

This quarter may shed light on Compaq; will it manage the channel or will the channel manage Compaq.

I would appreciate reactions.

Rudedog,

1. BrowseMaster is excellent. The main problem remains that there is still no "OT" filter. Maybe you have to show the BrowseMaster folks how to do it.

2. Most "OT" posters either don't know or care when they stray off into discussing other stocks, other plays they made, political comments, etc. Politeness education seems to be in order there.

3. A lot of short messages fall into the "chat room" category. These are generally one or two lines. I think that if SI were to expand the short view to 2 lines, it would be helpful. I don't think too many readers start at the top and read via next. Especially, Dell, CPQ, MSFT and other active threads.

I don't know how to copy SI Bob into this so I will cut and paste to him
