"... stay strong then oil should be sold." Not sure exactly what you mean. Do you mean to say that if oil rallies then it will kill the market.. higher oil is bad for stocks? If that's the case yes, although some index averages won't show the ill effects of higher energy costs if other components stay within a trading range. If oil were to really spike up.. for example if there were a Russian Springtime revolution, then there would be considerable damage as it would sympathetically spike other commodities and drop the transport average.
