Singer was broken up in a Corporate raid.

The company that bought our division took me out of Engineering and put me in charge of Telecom. Once I figured out "Telecom", I looked at my roughly 4 million dollar annual budget, spent 18 months cutting it to under a million, and then they decided that I was overpaid because my department ran on less money. So they let me go in a RIF (Reduction in Force).

It was okay with me, I got 6 months or a year's severance. I had money from the Corporate takeover. I had nothing to do.

So now I do it here.
