Ziff Davis editorial was junk, unfortunately, as pointed out by the comments below the article. Here's my reply to that editorial:

Message 8064881

Ziffdavis preached the V3 over Pent 3.

To paraphrase someone else, it is a graphics card not a religion. There is alot of usefull information on both Sharky's site and on Tom's. If you are worried about bias then ignore all of the written words and just look at the graphs of performance of the various card running with the various CPUs and figure out which card is right for you.
In the Creative Labs TnT2 preview which got yanked the chip was running at 125mhz. At this speed the TnT2 is interesting but is not going to challenge V3 for the highend enthusiast crowd. If and I mean if some card vendors can ship TnT2 at speeds of 160mhz or above then this card will own the high end market, not the Voodoo3. From the charts I looked at the high end Tnt2 will be fact enough to run games at 1024*768 at 32 bit color. If this is true then this will be a major step forward and make it the must have card for the high end enthusiast crowd once Q3 and other games supporting 32 bit color come out.
Banshee was a great chip until TnT showed up and unfortunately it looks like TnT2 might do the same things to Voodoo3 that TnT did to Banshee.
For all those people who are screaming bias, please rationally explain to me how the Voodoo3 at 183mhz will be better then TnT2 at 175, provided they can both ship. To me the Diamond card looks to be a great card for gamers, and I would much rather add that to my ObsidianX24 in my current system then replacing it with a Voodoo3.
I still own 3DFX stock because I think they can grab a bigger chunk of the OEM contracts going forward. However it seems to me that they have relinquished the high end of the market to Nvidia. If this is the case their new high end 32 bit color part better show up before November.
