You say that analysts say total Internet auction business will triple in 2000 compared to last year (a 2 year time span).

eBay's revenue rate has tripled in less than 7 months.

In the first quarter of 1998, while eBay was still private, they did $5.98M in revenues. The first quarter of this year, they will easily top $30M in revenues (I happen to think it will be closer to $32M). That is a 5-fold increase in ONE year.

Just look at the auction counts. They are VERY indicative of eBay's revenues.

Also, if most investors are relying on published WS forecasts, that would indicate that when eBay reports next month, they are going to be blown away with the upside surprise.

And then the analysts will scramble to up their estimates (which will still be too low).
