Interesting older article (2/12/99) on Pentium III and Camino with short quote from S3. zdnet.com Following is an excerpt from a 1997 "Red Herring" article: "In a move that signals its maturity, S3 announced a $20 million investment program early this year to provide seed capital to companies involved in areas that will help S3's core business. In May[1997}, for example, S3 invested in video-equipment maker Faroudja Laboratories. Together, the companies will develop chips that let people view movies and television using their PC monitors." Does anyone know what the status is of this joint venture? Have they developed any products? It would seem to fit in with S3's current goals of developing home entertainment products.
