Marc: Re: "Justa, by the way welcome back to the thread. You have been sorely missed and looks like you returned just in time to keep the thread from going to hell."

Hey, I looked forward to coming back to see what you and the other guys and Bob Brinker were saying about the markets and the economy. It was a great show yesterday. Too bad I don't have time to discuss it.

I will need the help of everyone to keep the thread from going to hell. I can't do it on my own. And with my fond vacation memories firmly entrenched in my mind, I have a fresh perspective on life. And I have to seriously wonder now whether this thread is worth the time and effort anymore.

Which way will Mr. Market Go?

The S and P trades @25.14xs this year's earnings and 23.71xs next year's earnings. The market is priced as if nirvana will be with us for a while and perhaps it will. The PPI showed a decrease of 4% on Friday and productivity is increasing. In light of these events it is highly doubtful the Federal Reserve will tighten monetary policy because of inflation and raise rates at least over the next few months.

My allocation is currently at 82% equities and 18% cash and bonds. Over the past several weeks I have traded in and out of Amat profitably and decided to take a longer term position in Amat when it fell into the mid 50's after riding it from the twenties to the near seventies. On Friday I also purchased 20 Nvls September 55 Call Options at 10.5 currently trading at about 12...I feel Nvls is relatively undervalued to the semiconductor group and feel this is a good trade. This is after riding Nvls from the thirties to near seventies as well.

Questions: What is everyone's allocation at the moment? and What new positions if any are people taking? Further, are others pulling money out of the market to await a correction? and if so what will be the catalyst for that correction at this time?

As always these high price earnings ratio on the S and P concern me, complacency concerns me, and I am always concerned about taking the bulk of my profits off the table, I am more than willing to pay the taxes, before the big bad wolf...I mean bear comes...

Over...
