re:small cap funds

I am rapidly losing what little patience I had for MNMCX. I was concerned with them being involved in absorbing small cap opportunities fund as I thought this would do nothing except perhaps be a drag on what was a decent but not stellar small cap fund to begin with. Now looking at YTD performance we have MNMCX down 13.6%, Vanguard small cap index fund (NAESX down 4.4% and a small cap fund I got in near the market lows, BSCFX UP 8.1%. I have resisted taking action as I would take a decent capital gain on selling but as they say capital gains may soon not be an issue if this crummy performance continues. This is looking more and more like a fund specific problem than just a small cap problem. Any comments by those is this fund or others?
