The computer that I bought in December is slated to be taken back very soon. I had started a thread Subject 26453
and was ushered to this forum, which appears to be a thriving healthy hotbed of information for new computer buyers (and bold experimenters).

The computer I bought (from a local small shop) has a "freezing" problem. I hope I submit this before it freezes again!

I couldn't read all 6000 posts, but I did read many from the beginning, and it seems to me that the way to go is NOT to start with a motherboard with onboard graphics and sound cards. My machine has that against it too. So, when my order from buycomp.com comes in, with my new Mitsumi CDR, Soundblaster Live card, and Matrox sound card, I will be returning my computer and have them build a new one, only this time using a stand alone motherboard.
