With no reason for IOM to stay above $5, and a realization that competing ans superior products are emerging onto store shelves as we speak, look for IOM stock to comtinue its lonely slide downwards.

Since the obsolete Jaz line is now undergong huge pricing pressure from Castlewood's ORB drive, the margins that Iomega enjoyed during Syquest's demise are coming to an end. What SparQ did to Jaz last year, ORB is poised to do again this year. And with it comes a big hit on Iomega profitability. Look for a warnings announcement at the upcoming Quarterly Conference Call concerning a terrible 2nd Q. If I were invested in IOM, I would certainly get tired of Iomega continually getting beaten to the punch on just about every development. Even then-IOM Honcho Ted Briscoe lamented in Maximum PC Magazine that Iomega had dropped the ball on USB Zip's development.

On another topic, I must admit, the recent Brokerage Recommendations placing "buy" ratings on IOM were a brilliant move by Short Traders. Sucker in the willing individual knuckleheads with Hype-Filled Buy Recommendations, then Short the Hell out of a collapse-prone IOM as the price swells. Brilliant, just brilliant.

And the result is a huge Short profit approaching 50% inside 2 months. Hedge Funds love stocks like IOM.

Brilliant. And they love doing this to IOM. It's just so predictable.
