Longport Inc. Announces Marketing Letter of Intent

SWARTHMORE, Pa., March 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Longport, Inc (OTC Bulletin
Board: LPTI - news) announced today that it has signed a non-binding letter of intent with Austin Medical, Inc of Scranton, PA to significantly expand the marketing area for Longport's LDS scanner.

Under the terms of the letter of intent, Austin will pay Longport one million dollars over four years as a licensing fee for the scanner, together with a further license fee equal to ten percent (10%) of Austin's scanner revenue and a monthly fixed lease payment for each scanner.

The Company filed for 510(k) clearance for the scanner with the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) on January 26, 1999.
