DELL Culture, etc.: My 2 cents: any prospective merger between IBM & DELL would be anathema to both companies. Seems it would muddy whatever both do right. These "new" alliances and partnerships that crop up everywhere are new age terms for activities that in some cases fly close to the flames of the antitrust laws. I know, many think these are archaic, etc. but INTC and MSFT are recent examples of government intrusion, rightly or wrongly. Tying arrangements, favorable pricing discounts, etc. have got to get G-Men sniffing more green. But I'm sure the lawyers and marketers will keep things straight, the two companies will remain separate, equal, and profitable.

John,
Hi!!!
RE: Dear JD Main: Seems like a sign of weakness on the part of dell. Look at the disparity in PE's. Is DELL saying that they expect that they will be unable to sustain the revenues/income increases necessary to maintain a PE better than IBM's? I am not sure I believe this deal wil ever happen and if it does DELL holders will not like the deal.

Michael has repeatedly said that the one concern he has is for service to keep up with the DELL growth...

Best, Kemble
