An alternative view:

There is a lot of cold, hard cash coming into Go2Net as a result of this deal.

While other deals are pure stock swaps, this puts a lot of money on the table for Go2Net. And with Paul Allen's name behind it, a lot more people will start paying attention.

The big question is how Go2Net will use this money to grow the business.

Maybe they'll spend some of the money and BUY a much better name than Go2Net, one on which they can build a real brand.

Why were their trades yesterday that went from 96 to 113 back to 96 to 113 a few minutes apart...and why did it run up so quick. Could it be that someone was playing with this stock price just to get some press?
