More on the IBIA press conference, from Newswire:

"The International Biometric Industry Association (IBIA), a new
Washington, D.C.-based trade association representing the interests of the biometric industry, is announcing a set of clear principles it has adopted and will be recommending to end-users of biometrics in an effort to protect personal information when biometric technology is used both in private and public-sector applications."

________________

This kind of effort -- trade association privacy principles -- is just a baby step, and won't be enough. But at least it is a first step. The IBIA has to be meeting with the privacy groups and OEMs to formulate a common front to protect privacy, leading to federal legislation on the subject. "Industry standards" are never enough in the public policy arena. They just aren't enforceable.

Good Morning David,

Some fun facts.......

As of Feb.8.....Zachs is showing shares in short position of 925k......and a float of 13 million shares. Could be a million shares short by now?

Estimates for the quarter ending March 30....are 2 cents. I believe 2 analyst are taking a guess....one saying 3 cents....one saying 1 cent.

Skuza is estimating a penny...as always, but I doubt that he is one of the analysts. Skuza does beat the analysts time and time again, however.

Anyhow, based on the last 3 quarters.....IDX needs to loose 1 cent in order to get the PE to N/A.......All things considered.....might not be too bad.....or they could surprise with 4 cents and get the PE down to the 200 level......which I doubt will happen.....This is IDX.

IDX has now gone from $10.00 to $5.75 in about 10 weeks.......or down 42%.......while the market has done rather well.

IDX is now 75 cents from the low that took place last Fall when the market took the nasty plunge.

The next report of short interest should be interesting...I'm looking for the number to be higher than 925k.......as I have seen little buying pressure that would indicate covering.

Is the short number out today?.......Anybody?.......Looking for a bullish sign.....can anyone help?
