<AMD was always a brand name. Now it's even better. Perhaps better than Intel itself. More and more people are buying AMD chips since they have some of the best CPU's on the market.>

As I argued again and again, people aren't buying AMD chips because they have "some of the best CPU's on the market." They're buying AMD chips for two reasons:

1) They're cheap
2) They're ABI (Anything But Intel)

Knowing this will put some light on the paradox where AMD can lead in retail marketshare and at the same time announce significant losses ahead.

I've been saying all a long "AMD has the better CPU". That is
why people like me are willing to wait for the K6-III 450MZ. With CPU sales going up it's only a matter of time before the stock price goes up. I will say again in my opinion the K6-III is the best chip for home or business applications. At today's prices AMD stock is a mere one days move up for some Internet high flyers and very cheaply priced in my opinion.
