Actually, I posted the url to the commercial the night it was available.

I also saw that "The Fool" made the same comparison to the Iomega ad campaign that I did (I posted it first, but since Iomega is an old-time Fool company, I'm sure that it occurred to them right away).

I think that the commercials are ok for 3dfx because branding is very important for retail sales which still are a big part of 3dfx's business model. I'm a little worried about the timing - I hope they have supplies to meet the demand.

Hi John!! Yes, we remember you, welcome back.

The commercial looks refreshingly fun. An appropriate image from an entertainment company.

I like the timing of the ad blitz. It gives OEMs more reasons to go with 3dfx's products. It also might attract some favorable attention to 3dfx on Wall Street.

What is maximum number of boards TDFX/STBI can produce in one quarter? I think I've heard 1.5 million.

If so, and they are spending 20 million on ads, then they are paying $13.33 in advertising per board shipped this quarter!! If they spread that out over the whole year it's $3.33 per board shipped. Is my assumption of 1.5 million boards per quarter correct?

I don't think that makes much sense.

John, I liked the Flash demo as a commercial. The real commercial is funny and good but I don't think it enhances our branding very much unless you can afford to do a Budweiser style ad campaign. There is not enough linkage of the Voodoo box and the technology for my tastes. Where does the commercial assert that TDFX is the leader, runs the most games and is the fastest card available?

BWDIK?
